Paragliding in Croatia

If you’re looking for a skydiving experience, how about Croatia for some fantastic views? In this article, I cover 5 reasons to go paragliding in Croatia.

If you've sunbathed, explored the stunning old towns, sailed around the Croatian islands and partied in Hvar, you may be wondering what else you can do in the European country of Croatia.

There are some amazing places in the world but Croatia is definitely one of my favourite counties in Europe. It has so much to offer with waterfalls, gorgeous islands and eight national parks, and it’s now more popular than ever.

If you’re looking for an unforgettable lifetime experience, how about seeing Croatia from above and getting an adrenalin rush at the same time? Tandem skydiving and paragliding is huge in Croatia and there are many different locations to choose from. Here are 5 reasons to choose paragliding in Croatia.

Fun and view

1. It’s ideal for solos

It’s so easy if you’re by yourself. Admittedly it may be more comforting to go with someone but you’ll meet people when you’re preparing for your skydive Croatia. You’ll be soaring around in the open skies with your own instructor strapped to you, and your instructor will go through all the steps before you take off so you’ll know exactly what to expect.

The View

2. It has breathtaking scenery

You can choose to go urban and jump out of a plane over old cities such as the capital city Zagreb. Other areas in the country to do it is on the party island of Hvar or Istria, the largest peninsula in the Adriatic Sea. But the most panoramic location has to be Zadar with the beautiful view of the largest mountain in the county, Velebit below.

Soar above the National parks of Paklenica with its impressive canyons, steep cliffs and old beech forests, and witness the jagged coastline of Kornati National Park as you paraglide in Croatia.

3. Croatia is full of adventure sports

If you’re planning an adventurous trip, tandem skydiving could just be one of your adrenalin activities during an active vacation in Croatia. ATV’ing is popular on the islands of Cres and Krk and allows the chance to meet others whilst driving off-road. Or you can experience a different side of Croatia by going on a buggy safari tour and tasting some Croatian food along the way. Something a bit less adventurous than skydiving is taking a panoramic flight over the country instead.

Fun

4. Combine it with your sailing trip or festival

If you visit during the summer, you can combine your tandem skydive with one of the famous festivals. Skydiving is only one of the fun things to do in Croatia. Sail around the Dalmatian coast and experience island life on some of Croatia’s stunning islands. Then once your festival or sailing trip has ended, see the yachts and the land from above and get a different perspective of the Croatian coastline from an aerial view.

5. You don’t need any training

Unlike a traditional parachute jump where you spend hours training how to jump out of a plane, tandem skydiving is a more enjoyable way to experience the feeling of flying without having to learn how to do it yourself. Tandem skydives start at $359 (€326) for one hour, and they’re offered year-round.

Plus, you can purchase a video of your Croatia skydiving to recapture your unforgettable lifetime experience again and again. Definitely one for the solo bucket list.
