We know how some of us girls just love to flex the plastic and shop, and with so many cities to choose from, where do we start? Here’s our pick of the best places for shopping across the entire globe.
New York

The ultimate shopping experience. Choose from any of the famous stores such as Macy’s, Bloomingdales or Tiffany’s in Manhattan, or check out fashionable Soho for the more commercial brands.
Head to Woodbury Common Outlet Mall by bus for some designer bargains.
Dubai
Shop until you drop in the indoor malls. The Dubai Mall is one of the world’s largest and has its own waterfalls, giant aquarium and an outdoor water show as well as 1,200 high street and designer shops. You can even ski within the Mall of the Emirates own winter wonderland.
The Dubai Shopping Festival takes place around January to March and runs for 4 weeks.
Shanghai
Shanghai is on par with New York for fashionable shopping and any high street store you need in East Nanjing Road. And as China is the birthplace for anything electrical, Pearl Market in Beijing is great for grabbing those bargains.
Prices in Shanghai are virtually the same as you’d find back home.
Tokyo

It’s not just electronics that you can buy in Tokyo, the capital of Japan has top brands, the latest trends and a shop for everything you could ever need. The major department stores are found at Shinjuku along with stylish boutiques and underground shopping arcades.
Head to Tokyo Midtown for their eco urban shopping complex.
Copenhagen
Swedes know a thing or two about style and Stockholm’s streets are full of fashion inspiration. If it’s top ultra-sleek designer wear that you’re looking for, Copenhagen is the place to bag it. Head to the Gronnegade area for popular designers or the pedestrian streets of Stroget and Kobmagergade for Prada and other international brands.
Clothes here can come with a hefty price tag.
I’d like to read about any women who’ve traveled to Dubai
Hi Marilyn, Dubai is so cosmopolitan with 80 different nationalities and is safe for women. There is a solo destination guide on this site for more details. Lisa
